Curious: An Introduction to Gloriously Ordinary Co-production
Edgar Cahn calls co-production, “a different imagining of the world we know.” Sometimes it is hard to imagine what that difference looks like or how it could possibly work. Curious: an introduction to Gloriously Ordinary Co-production, is a full day session for organisations who are curious and want to know more about co-production and what it’s all about.
We hear the word co-production used so often in health and social care. Our day together will get everyone on the same page about what co-production is... and isn’t.
By the end of this session, you will understand how co-production currently looks and feels where you live and work and have some ideas about what needs to change.
Are you curious?
How the day works
This session can be held online via Zoom or in person at your venue, for approximately 50 people working in or with your organisation.
The day will run from 9:30am to 4pm with plenty of breaks.
It will be practical and interactive and will include a mix of working together as a whole group and in small groups/breakouts.
We will cover:
Introducing Edgar Cahn and the idea of co-production as a different imagining of the world we know
The problem with the world we know, including the co-production world we know
A bit of history – where did thinking about co-production come from?
Reimagining the world – how can your organisation keep co-production Gloriously Ordinary
After the day, your organisation will have access to a password protected section of this website with a range of resources for you to use to support Gloriously Ordinary Co-production.
By the end of the day you will:
Have a very different understanding of what co-production means and why it matters in all our lives
Reflect on how co-production currently looks and feels where you live and/or work - at every layer of the Co-production Sandwich
Feel confident enough to challenge the need for a co-production strategy or board (yes really!)
Understand our practical Two Bottom Lines and Four Tests for Gloriously Ordinary and explore how you might use them
Have some clear first steps for reimagining your world and creating Gloriously Ordinary Lives.
